Cotton Duvets: What Does a Thread Count of 200 Mean?
The threadcount is how many threads per square inch are in the outer fabric of the duvet. 200 thread count is fairly dense, which will keep feathers from migrating through and poking you. The higher the thread count the better for a duvet. A low thread count is scratchier, less expensive fabric.
If your duvet contains real feathers, you should opt for a high thread count, even though the fabric is more expensive.
